Responsibilities

The main duties related to this position are:

  • Review and verify daily drilling reports from each rig, ensuring data accuracy and supporting improvements to the reporting systems.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Ourhoud and Algerian Statutory Policies, Well Integrity Assurance Policy (WIAP), and Blow-Out Contingency Plan (BOCP) throughout the life cycle of each well.
  • Maintain and regularly update Well Performance Graphs (Depth vs. Time, Depth vs. Cost).
  • Prepare and continuously update Rig Schedules and Operational Forecasts.
  • Perform quality checks on drilling data management software, coordinating with software providers to enhance functionality and reliability.
  • Consolidate and deliver comprehensive Weekly Executive Operational Reports.
  • Track statistical data for each well (operational times, costs, Non-Productive Times), generating detailed operational KPI analyses.
  • Conduct detailed cost analyses, resolving discrepancies between Drilling Database and accounting systems, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Generate Rate of Penetration (ROP) charts, analysing drilling performance to identify opportunities for real-time optimization.
  • Monitor and report Working Man-Hours summaries and man-days generated during the project lifecycle.
  • Proactively document and disseminate operational knowledge and "lessons learned" to enhance continuous improvement.
  • Occasionally supervise service companies under the delegated authority of the Drilling Superintendent / Drilling Manager.
  • Coordinate regularly with finance and cost control departments to ensure accurate alignment between technical and financial reporting.

Special Challenges

  • Management of detailed and complex data from Oil & Gas exploration and development projects in Algeria
  • Accurate forecasting and management of deep drilling operations (>3000 m).
  • Ensuring accurate reporting and optimization in reservoir environments characterized by high differential pressures.
  • Identification and recommendation of potential cost savings and operational efficiencies.
  • Effective coordination with diverse internal departments, contractors, and vendors, both within and outside Algeria.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic and multicultural working environment

Skills Required

The following list of skills is required for the position:

  • University Degree or Higher National Diploma in Engineering or relevant technical discipline (or significant proven relevant experience).
  • At least 10 years of demonstrated experience in a similar position, with proven proficiency in Oil & Gas drilling operational management.
  • Solid experience with Drilling Databases and Reporting Systems (Landmark / Open Wells).
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in specialized project planning, performance analysis, and data visualization software.
  • Advanced Excel skills, familiarity with database programming and management are considered advantageous.
  • Proven ability to understand and manage operational costs and financial data integration.
  • High-level proficiency in English compulsory; fluency in French, Arabic, and Spanish considered beneficial.
  • Experience working in reservoir environments with high differential pressures preferred.
  • Highly organized, motivated, proactive, and committed to contributing to organizational performance and results.
