Missions / Service Dimensions

The expert will be responsible for designing and conducting experimental work on the new solvent system. This includes setting up laboratory test benches, operating experiments, and contributing to a multidisciplinary research effort in collaboration with teams focused on thermodynamics and reaction kinetics.

Main Responsibilities

Preparation Phase

  • Familiarize with the solvent and existing test procedures during the initial mission in Tokyo.
  • Design and configure experimental setups in the local R&D center.

Execution

  • Conduct bench-scale CO₂ absorption experiments using the precipitating amine solvent.
  • Manage qualification and commissioning of the test benches.

Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze experimental data, assess performance against benchmarks.
  • Document and synthesize findings into technical reports.
  • Ensure clear communication and regular updates to project stakeholders.

Collaboration

  • Liaise with the thermodynamics and kinetics teams to integrate findings.
  • Ensure coordination with the international partner for knowledge alignment and project consistency.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Master’s degree or PhD in Physical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Material Science.
  • Languages: English - Professional proficiency (spoken and written).
  • Experience:
    • Demonstrated experience in carbon capture technologies, particularly post-combustion absorption processes.
    • Proven ability to run laboratory experiments and interpret complex data.
    • Hands-on expertise in equipment qualification, solvent handling, and chemical process evaluation.
    • Knowledge of thermodynamic and reaction kinetic principles is a plus.
    • Experience in collaborative R&D projects with international stakeholders is an advantage.
