Location: Paramaribo, Suriname
Reporting to: Director of Business Development - LATAM (based at European HQ)
Key Responsibilities
Market Development
Map the local ecosystem: oil operators, service providers, port authorities.
Build and maintain a strong network within major Oil & Gas companies and their subcontractors.
Logistics Solution Design
Design customized supply chain solutions for both onshore and offshore operations (sea freight, heavy transport, handling, warehousing).
Work in close collaboration with our international hubs (Rotterdam, French Guiana, Brazil).
Contract Negotiation & Closing
Lead commercial negotiations ensuring competitive pricing and service-level agreements (SLAs).
Finalize contracts and ensure a seamless handover to operations with complete documentation (SOPs, KPIs, contingency plans).
Strategic Intelligence & Reporting
Track tenders and stay updated on regulatory changes (e.g., port rules, energy taxation).
Provide regular performance reports and strategic insights to HQ.
Candidate Profile
Experience
10+ years in B2B business development, with a minimum of 5 years in Oil & Gas logistics.
Network
Strong professional connections with Oil & Gas majors, port authorities, and key institutions in Suriname.
Education
Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain.
Languages
Fluent in English; proficiency in Dutch and/or Portuguese is a plus.
Technical Skills
In-depth knowledge of international trade procedures, customs regulations, and transit operations.
Proven ability to build and lead logistics teams and projects.
Proficient in CRM/ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, SAP).
Personal Qualities
Proactive and results-oriented with strong negotiation skills.
Excellent communication and cross-cultural collaboration capabilities.
Autonomous, organized, and able to deliver under pressure.
Mobility
International driver’s license required.
Willingness to be based long-term in Paramaribo, with occasional regional travel.
