- Serve as the technical expert on assigned projects, providing process engineering support from concept through implementation
- Develop project scopes of work and detailed engineering specifications for process equipment and systems
- Perform feasibility studies, capital cost estimates, and economic evaluations of proposed projects
- Prepare process flow diagrams, material and energy balances, and process simulations
- Design and specify process equipment, instrumentation, and controls
- Select and specify materials of construction
- Manage outside engineering contractors and vendors
- Interface with other disciplines (e.g., mechanical, electrical, civil, architectural) to ensure overall project success
- Participate in start-up and commissioning activities
- Provide ongoing technical support for existing facilities
