Context & Environment

In 2021, the COMPANY discovered an extensive oil and associated gas field 70 km off the coast of Abidjan, Ivory Coast at a depth of 1,200 metres. It was the first commercial discovery in the country in the past 20 years. We call it fast track and it consists in running the design, authorisation and execution phases in parallel. Another innovative aspect of the project is the reuse of an existing FPSO, modernised and made technologically more advanced to ensure an accelerated start-up, optimising costs and time and minimising the waste of raw materials and construction materials.

Main Activities

Assist in monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables that includes journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements in compliance with GAAP.

Perform Balance Sheet account reconciliations.

Assist with preparation for annual audit and tax returns.

Document business processes and accounting policies for business continuity.

Perform Ad-hoc projects as necessary.

Assist with a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual for accounting policy and

Regulations, and roll out reconciliation procedure.

Transition fixed assets into ERP system and manage on a monthly basis.

Review day-to-day payables for accuracy and completeness.

Assist with annual audit.

Process monthly sales and use tax.

Preparing financial statements

Assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas.

Qualifications & Experience

The job holder must have:

Bachelor’s Degree in finance or accounting.

Advanced French - written and spoken

Intermediate English - written and spoken (an advantage)

4-5 years of relevant working experience.

Strong knowledge of SAP preferred.

Accounting experience in a multi-entity environment preferred.

Microsoft Excel experience including Vlookups and pivot tables.

Excellent written, verbal, and social communication skills.
