Workover Superintendent

Location: Gabon - Offshore / Onshore

The Workover Superintendent is responsible for the supervision and coordination of all workover and well intervention operations in Gabon.

The role ensures operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Company procedures, operational objectives, and HSE requirements.

The position acts as the operational focal point between Company teams, drilling/workover contractors, and service providers.

Operational Supervision:

• Supervise daily workover and well intervention operations
• Ensure operations are performed according to approved programs and procedures
• Coordinate operational activities between rig teams and service companies
• Ensure safe and efficient execution of all operations

Well Operations:

• Supervise:
  • Tubing replacement
  • Well clean-up
  • Well integrity operations
  • Recompletion activities
  • Artificial lift interventions
• Monitor operational performance and optimize execution efficiency
• Minimize non-productive time and operational risks

Contractor Management:

• Supervise drilling/workover contractors and service providers
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and Company standards
• Validate operational readiness of personnel and equipment

HSE & Well Control:

• Enforce strict compliance with HSE procedures and well control requirements
• Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments
• Ensure Permit to Work procedures are properly implemented
• Apply Stop Work authority when required

Reporting & Coordination:

• Prepare daily operational reports and operational summaries
• Report operational issues, risks, and deviations
• Coordinate with:
  • Workover Engineers
  • Production teams
  • Logistics teams
  • Service providers

Education:

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification

Experience:

• Minimum 15+ years of experience in workover and well intervention operations
• Proven experience as:
  • Workover Supervisor
  • Workover Superintendent
• Strong experience in offshore and/or mature assets
• Africa experience highly desirable

• IWCF Well Control Level 4 preferred
• Valid offshore safety certifications as applicable
