Well Integrity Engineer

Position Summary

The Well Integrity Engineer is responsible for managing well integrity in accordance with the company’s Well Integrity Management System (WIMS), applicable legislation, and within approved budgets. The position entails full accountability for the maintenance, monitoring, and reporting of all elements within the well operating envelope throughout the production phase of the well. This includes developing job programs, drafting work instructions, and providing operational support during maintenance and intervention activities to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with the company’s Well Integrity Management System across all elements of the well operating envelope
  • Oversee the wellhead and tree maintenance contractor to deliver planned maintenance activities
  • Manage the Well Integrity Status Tool (WIST)
  • Plan and conduct annual well examination programs
  • Manage the creation and removal of policy dispensations
  • Maintain communication between the License Holder and the Duty Holder
  • Identify efficiency opportunities to reduce costs and increase production
  • Assist with the tendering process (ITT) and contract award
  • Create purchase requisitions and validate invoices
  • Contribute to well intervention planning and identify potential efficiencies for preventive maintenance
  • Draft and submit Well Intervention Requests (WIR)
  • Write or review intervention programs and work instructions
  • Keep up to date with regulations and ensure compliance by informing the wells team of any changes
  • Collaborate with industry peers to share best practices and innovations
  • Observe all HSE guidelines and participate in emergency response when required

  • Partners (Neptune & Sonatrach)
  • Independent Verifier

Context and Environment

  • Monthly rotational assignment: 28/28
  • Site-based position at Oued Zine (Algeria)

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Education

  • University Degree (Bac+5) in a relevant engineering discipline
  • IWCF Well Control Certification

Experience

  • Significant experience in well integrity management
  • Solid track record in well services operations
  • Demonstrated HSE leadership
  • Multidisciplinary collaboration experience in multicultural environments
  • Strong vendor and regulatory interface management
  • Committed to safety in well operations
  • Excellent project management skills, including procurement and contractor supervision
  • Innovative mindset and openness to global technical collaboration

Languages

  • Fluent in English and French (required)
  • Arabic (preferred)
