Steel fitter

Location: NPP Leibstadt, Switzerland

Project: Outage 2026

Deployment Period: 28 April 2026 - 28 May 2026

Working Hours: 10 hours per day, Monday to Saturday (60 hours/week)

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble and install steel structures, heat exchangers, and large piping systems including pipe supports
• Coordinate with the site manager for the opening and closing of heat exchangers
• Select and handle appropriate lifting equipment (e.g. chain hoists, cranes)
• Order and assemble required materials such as gaskets, bolts, and nuts
• Cut, thread, and hammer steel structures according to construction drawings
• Use saws and cutting torches to craft steel plates and beams
• Mount and secure steel components using brackets, clamps, tools, or welding equipment
• Turn off and dismantle steel plates and beams from/in heat exchangers
• Repair and maintain mechanical components, including addressing cracks and leaks

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Steel Fitter in industrial or nuclear projects
• Ability to read and interpret design and construction drawings
• Skilled in the use of mechanical tools including torque wrenches (certification for hydraulic tools such as ITH or HYTORC preferred)
• Certification for working at heights and in confined spaces
• Strong understanding of safe rigging and lifting operations
• Valid radiation passport and medical clearance for work in radiologically controlled areas
• Holder of a Swiss work permit allowing up to 60 hours/week including weekends

Team Requirements

• Team leader and welding specialist must be fluent in German or English
• The team must be well-coordinated, capable of working independently, and perform all tasks with a high level of responsibility and safety awareness
