Senior Reservoir Engineer

Location: Mexico City, Mexico

Reservoir Engineering & Simulation

• Build, update, and maintain dynamic reservoir simulation models
• Generate production forecasts and profiles for multiple FDP scenarios
• Perform history matching and reservoir performance analysis
• Validate and optimize development strategies using simulation results

Field Development Planning

• Support the development and optimization of Field Development Plans (FDPs)
• Evaluate development scenarios including well placement and recovery strategies
• Contribute to reserves estimation and resource management processes

Data Acquisition & Integration

• Prepare dynamic data acquisition plans for development wells
• Monitor and validate dynamic data acquired during drilling operations
• Ensure quality control of reservoir data and integration into simulation models

Reservoir Management & Optimization

• Design and evaluate recovery mechanisms including:
  • Waterflooding
  • Miscible gas injection
• Optimize production strategies to maximize recovery and efficiency
• Identify uncertainties and perform sensitivity analyses

Project & Business Support

• Support corporate business planning and investment decision processes
• Contribute to internal and external technical review meetings
• Participate in partner technical committees and project evaluations

• Ensure all activities comply with Company HSES standards and regulatory requirements
• Promote safe working practices within subsurface and operational teams

• Ensure all activities comply with Company ethics and compliance policies
• Complete all required compliance training

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline
• Master’s degree is an advantage

Experience

• Minimum 15+ years of experience in reservoir engineering
• Strong experience in dynamic reservoir simulation
• Proven experience in complex reservoirs (turbidite environments)
• Experience in offshore field development projects

• Strong expertise in:
  • Dynamic reservoir simulation
  • Production forecasting
  • Reservoir performance analysis
  • Field development planning
• Experience with recovery methods:
  • Waterflooding
  • Gas injection (miscible or immiscible)
• Software proficiency:
  • IMEX
  • Coflow
  • Prosper
  • PVTsim
  • WinProp

Operational Capabilities

• Ability to integrate geological, petrophysical, and production data
• Strong understanding of offshore development workflows
• Experience supporting drilling and well placement decisions

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and presentation capabilities
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
• Strong collaboration with technical and operational stakeholders

• Fluent English required (minimum B2 level)
• Spanish is a plus
