Senior IT Project Manager – Utilities Sector

About the Role

In this role, you will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring alignment on requirements, solution design, and project delivery.

You will manage complex IT programs using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, with strong accountability for governance, data migration, cybersecurity, testing, and change management.

Key Responsibilities

Governance & Planning

• Define acceptance criteria and readiness measures upfront.
• Provide clear reporting and Go/No-Go recommendations to steering committees.
• Ensure compliance with corporate standards and governance frameworks.
• Track progress, risks, and KPIs, ensuring timely mitigation.

Stakeholder & Resource Management

• Coordinate skilled resources in collaboration with team leads.
• Facilitate decision-making across all impacted parties.
• Maintain continuous involvement of business and technical stakeholders.

Security & Compliance

• Ensure GDPR and Cybersecurity requirements are met on time.
• Guarantee solutions meet defined requirements and business outcomes.

Data Migration & Testing

• Define and validate data migration strategies and mappings.
• Design, build, and test migration scripts and cutover plans.
• Conduct dry runs to validate quality, timelines, and success of ETL.
• Oversee comprehensive test management, ensuring resources are available.

Change Management & Transition

• Ensure change management and Target Operating Model (ToM) are validated by stakeholders.
• Manage communication, training, and operational transition.
• Secure sign-off for service transfer with support stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

Project Management (Business & Technical) Senior (8-10 years) with proven track record in both Agile and Waterfall projects.

Sector Knowledge Significant experience in the Belgian utilities sector (10+ years preferred).

Languages Trilingual - Dutch, French, English (mandatory).
