Mission

The Senior Completion Supervisor will be responsible for the safe and efficient execution of well completion operations for an onshore oil development project in Nigeria. This includes standalone and gravel pack completion designs across multiple land-based well pads.

Reporting to the Completion Superintendent, the Supervisor will manage day-to-day rig-site operations, supervise contractors, ensure compliance with HSE standards, and deliver the well according to program, budget, and company standards.

Activities

Before Operations

• Participate in the planning and review of completion programs and operational procedures
• Provide input into completion equipment selection and service provider readiness
• Ensure all QA/QC checks are performed on equipment prior to mobilization
• Review and understand the drilling and completion program, risk register, and contingency plans
• Ensure rig site readiness in collaboration with logistics and materials teams

During Operations

• Supervise all well completion activities on site, including:
  • Sand control operations (standalone screens, open-hole and cased-hole gravel packs)
  • Running of production tubing, accessories, and wellhead equipment
  • Perforating, displacement, and clean-up operations
• Ensure strict adherence to safety and environmental procedures at all times
• Lead daily pre-job safety meetings (Toolbox Talks) and ensure active participation of all personnel
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure proper execution of the program
• Update well reports, cost tracking tools, and operational KPIs
• Manage on-site inventory, materials reconciliation, and lifting operations
• Coordinate with engineering team to optimize execution and implement lessons learned in real-time
• Act as the site representative for completion-related audits and HSE inspections

After Operations

• Ensure proper handover and documentation of well status
• Participate in after-action reviews and preparation of the End-of-Well Report
• Capture operational lessons learned and propose improvement actions

HSE Responsibilities

• Champion safety culture on site; intervene on unsafe acts or conditions
• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and industry regulations
• Lead incident investigations when required
• Monitor environmental aspects of operations and report deviations

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Minimum 15 years’ experience in oil & gas well operations, including 8+ years in completion supervision
• Proven expertise in gravel pack and standalone screen completions
• Experience on land rigs in West Africa or similar operational environments
• IWCF Level 4 Well Control certification (mandatory)
• Strong leadership, communication, and contractor management skills
• Fluent in English; French is an asset
• Excellent knowledge of HSE procedures and industry best practices
• Familiar with completions software, cost tracking tools, and digital reporting platforms
