Main Responsibilities

The Process Engineering Expert will oversee the design, review, and development of wastewater treatment processes as part of the Al Gabal El-Asfar Wastewater Treatment Plant (GAWWTP) expansion project. The role involves detailed oversight of the treatment process, including anaerobic digestion, ensuring optimal performance, and compliance with environmental standards. This expert will work closely with the engineering team, consultants, and contractors, ensuring technical aspects are aligned with the project’s goals.

Specific tasks include

• Reviewing and providing input on the process design and technical specifications of the wastewater treatment plant.
• Supervising the construction phase to ensure adherence to the approved design and standards.
• Ensuring that process designs include energy-efficient measures and incorporate sustainable practices.
• Managing the implementation of anaerobic digestion technology and optimizing sludge management processes.
• Collaborating with the team to develop solutions for any technical issues encountered during design or construction.
• Utilizing computer technology to analyze technical and financial data, and generating regular reports for stakeholders.
• Providing technical leadership in wastewater process engineering and serving as the key technical liaison between stakeholders and contractors.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably with a Ph.D. in environmental engineering or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 15 years of experience as a process engineering expert in wastewater treatment, with relevant experience in at least three countries.
• A minimum of 5-8 years of senior-level specific experience in process design, design review, and development of wastewater treatment facilities.
• At least three successful assignments involving the design or review of wastewater treatment plants, including anaerobic digestion.
• Proficiency in using computer tools for technical and financial data analysis, record maintenance, and report generation.
• Strong communication skills, with fluency in English (knowledge of Arabic is a plus).
