Petroleum Geologist

The Petroleum Geologist will undertake the following responsibilities

• Assist the drilling supervisor in preparing and finalizing the drilling program.
• Supervise the mud logging, wireline logging, and coring operations during drilling activities.
• Analyze and prepare geological and petrophysical reports for the fields, study, and interpret seismic sections to prepare structural maps (contour maps) for drilling.
• Study and interpret all logs to determine the completion interval.
• Analyze and interpret all logs of existing wells to evaluate the gas zones.
• Prepare the well testing program, supervise well testing operations, and analyze the results.
• Prepare a report in collaboration with the Drilling Supervisor and Petroleum Engineer on drilling activities for each well.
• Assist the Project Director in other technical matters related to the field of expertise.

Qualification and Experience

• Should possess at least a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Geology or an equivalent qualification.
• Must be a member of at least one international professional geology-related organization (e.g., AAPG, SEG, SPE, etc.).
• Must have completed at least one Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) training course.
• Should have at least 15 years of overall experience in geological work within the oil and gas industry.
• Must have experience in geological works (e.g., well design, well prognosis, geological analyses, and formation evaluation) for a minimum of 40 gas/oil wells.
• Should have specific experience in geological work related to drilling operations, including well design, prognosis, geological analyses, and formation evaluation, for at least 4 gas/oil wells with a minimum total depth of 4000 meters TVD.
• Must have experience in geological work for drilling at least 4 directional gas/oil wells.
• Should have experience in conducting geological work for a minimum of 4 gas/oil wells in geological settings similar to those found in Bangladesh (e.g., deltaic, siliciclastic, anticlinal).
• Must have a good proficiency in both written and spoken English.
• Age limit: Maximum 68 years on the date of the Technical Proposal opening.
