P&A Operations Engineer (Onshore)

SCOPE OF THE POSITION
The Operations Engineer is responsible for supporting the day-to-day planning and operational activities to ensure the projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards, engineering specifications, and regulatory requirements. The role provides support to onshore Superintendent and to field teams, coordinates with engineering and service companies and ensures operational performance targets are achieved.
DUTIES AND RESPSONSIBILITIES
· Exercises technical & cost control of all specialist well contractors and the responsibility for the coordination of engineering programming.
· Lead and generate written work instructions based on the operations programme.
· Support activities through review of day to day operations and service companies to ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies and industry regulations. Fillin for Superintendent as Senior representative for Repsol onshore when required.
· Ensure all well related operations comply with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements (including well / location specific consents and approvals).
· Support Management of Change (MoC) situations with detailed engineering support ensuring properly risk assessed. Ensure appropriate risk assessment, impact of change and mitigation plans in place.
· Monitor job progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely execution within budget and scope.
· Actively monitor day to day costs and realise savings against AFE where applicable
· Manage third-party service providers and ensure service quality, performance, and safety compliance.
· Monitor project progress and operational performance against schedules, budgets, and KPIs.
· Review engineering drawings, procedures, and technical documentation to ensure correct execution.
· Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain safe operations.
· Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure quality, safety, and environmental compliance.
· Prepare operational reports and provide updates to senior management.
· Investigate incidents or operational issues and implement corrective actions.
· Manage equipment utilization, maintenance planning, and operational readiness.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS
Required
· Valid Subsea Supervisor IWCF Well Control (Level 4)
· Valid Offshore Survival BOSIET (including CA-EBS)
· Valid Medical certification (medical fitness to work specific for job)
Preferred
Legally entitled to work in Spain
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE
· Required
· Demonstrable equivalent experience in onshore operations position.
· Experience with Subsea workover / P&A operations e.g. OWIRS, SFT, IWOCS, etc
· Minimum of 20 years industry experience
· Minimum 15 years in Offshore Semi Subs experience
· Previous well abandonment experience essential.
· Can demonstrate highly developed problem-solving skills.
· Proficiency with Openwells, Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook.
· Excellent written and oral command of the English language.
Preferred
· Familiar with Repsol Well Delivery Processes and relevant policies and procedures.
· Experience of Rig Readiness / Delivering MODU out of shipyard
· Experience of BOP tethering operations
· Experience of Section Milling operations
· Experience of International remote operations
Experience of International remote logistic
