Job Description
The applicant will be responsible in handling, organizing and managing electrical projects. Must be capable of preparing preliminary and conceptual design studies, scope of work and tender packages, cost estimating, evaluation of bids, project execution and coordination.
Basic functions
- Design, develop, monitors, coordinates electrical projects.
- Conduct preliminary and conceptual studies, budgetary studies, planning, plant development/modification, expansion and repair/restoration programs.
- Review and approve design work of contractors.
- Recommend solutions to ensure smooth project execution.
- Lead a team of engineers and support personnel in all assigned activities.
- Develops plans to improve power generation, sub-transmission and distribution systems within the oil/gas facilities.
- Coordinates with other discipline engineers regarding project requirements.
- Reports to the team leader, superintendent, and manager.
Requirements
- Minimum 20 + years combined experience in the power and oil and gas sectors with focus on engineering design, project management, testing and commissioning, operation and maintenance of electrical facilities.
- Must have in-depth knowledge and experience in power generation such as gas turbine generating packages, design of electrical power systems including protection for oil and gas facilities.
- Must have experience in working with substation, switchgears, MCCs, MV power cables, transmission and distribution lines.
- Must have experience and understanding in the use of ETAP, CYME and other similar electrical engineering software.
- Must be knowledgeable with various electrical codes and standards such as IEC, ANSI/NEMA, etc., and other recommended practices for electrical systems.
- Applicant should be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and can work with minimal supervision.
- Must have positive attitude towards works and must be able to work along with engineers and technicians from various nationalities.
- Must have experienced working in Engineering, Procurement and Construction projects. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Must have proven stable work employment record.
- Must not be older than 55 years old.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from reputable universities / colleges
- Must be a registered or professional electrical engineer in their country.
- Must have verifiable work certifications from previous employers in the power and oil/gas industries.
