Key Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and optimize nuclear reactor systems and components.
- Monitor reactor performance and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Conduct neutronic analysis including criticality, burnup, cross-section, flux, and dose calculations.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies (e.g., NRC) and support licensing processes.
- Participate in core design and fuel cycle analysis for micro-reactor operations.
- Perform radiation shielding assessments and safety calculations.
- Investigate radiation incidents and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct risk assessments and failure mode analyses of key components.
- Provide technical training and support to plant personnel and stakeholders.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and licensing materials.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering or a related field.
- Advanced knowledge of reactor physics and safety protocols.
- Experience with nuclear simulation software such as SERPENT, MCNP, SCALE, PARCS, or similar tools.
- Solid understanding of nuclear regulatory environments and safety standards (preferably NRC-compliant).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to compliance and safety.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Nuclear Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience supporting an IPO or working in a publicly listed company.
- Fluency in both Italian and English (spoken and written).
- Ability to influence stakeholders and build strong relationships across functions.
