Activities

Mechanical QC Supervision & Compliance

  • Supervise mechanical QC activities carried out by contractors and subcontractors at the main construction site.
  • Verify and approve contractor drawings, fabrication procedures, and methodologies.
  • Ensure that contractors have adequate equipment, manpower, and resources to meet quality and schedule requirements.
  • Ensure full compliance with contractual, technical, and Company quality standards.
  • Assist in the organization, scheduling, and coordination of mechanical quality activities to meet project timelines.

Quality Audits, Inspections & Risk Assessment

  • Conduct routine and random inspections of construction activities, ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Assist in daily construction meetings related to mechanical QC.
  • Support the review and validation of contractors’ Quality Control (QC) Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and construction procedures.
  • Monitor the implementation of approved construction drawings, QC plans, and surveillance programs.
  • Ensure proper documentation of material certification files, including vendor and contractor documentation.
  • Perform QC visits, HSE inspections, and audits as per project quality control plans.
  • Report quality concerns, non-conformities, and anomalies to the Site Quality Lead.

Welding & Material Control

  • Monitor welding qualification processes and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Ensure traceability of materials through systematic documentation and random PMI checks.
  • Review and validate contractor non-conformance reports and their resolutions.
  • Oversee contractor implementation of corrective actions for work deficiencies.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Interface with the Site Construction team and Contractor’s QC site authority on mechanical QC issues.
  • Attend daily and periodic construction/QC meetings with the contractor and project stakeholders.
  • Monitor incoming material control from receipt to storage and final use.
  • Engage in supply chain QC compliance, both on and off-site, as required.
  • Participate in Functional Acceptance Testing (FAT) and System Acceptance Testing (SAT) for mechanical systems.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly QC reports, including dashboard KPIs for project management.

HSSE & Safety Culture Development

  • Promote a strong safety culture within the project team and contractor workforce.
  • Ensure compliance with Company’s HSSE regulations and Code of Conduct.
  • Stop and report any unsafe or non-compliant activity to the Site Quality Lead.

Working Relations

  • Internal: Close collaboration with the Site Quality Lead, Site Construction team, and project stakeholders.
  • External: Interface with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers for mechanical quality control activities.

Authority & Responsibilities

  • Ensure mechanical QC compliance and risk mitigation during all phases of construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning.
  • Guarantee that mechanical QC personnel, equipment, and services meet project specifications.
  • Promote continuous improvement in mechanical quality performance and ensure timely resolution of non-conformities.
  • Ensure that all regulatory and contractual mechanical QC obligations are met.

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Professional Experience (years): min 15 years’ Experience in QA QC activities
  • Experience in similar position (years): mini 10 in similar role
  • Level / Diploma: HNC or equivalent (with PCN/ ISO 9712, CSWIP or AWS CWI)
  • Languages: English mandatory
  • Strong background in LNG construction, welding, painting/coating, and NDT techniques
  • Experience with construction audit techniques and mechanical inspection processes

Technical Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of QA/QC management systems, construction standards, and risk assessment
  • Familiarity with Company’s rules, procedures, and contractual requirements
  • Experience in managing contractor relationships, negotiations, and team supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Email, reporting tools)
