Interface Coordinator

Job Purpose

To manage and coordinate all technical and project interfaces between multiple EPC Contractors, internal project teams, and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless integration of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project execution activities. The Interface Coordinator ensures that interface issues are clearly defined, tracked, and resolved to avoid delays, rework, or conflicts across multi-EPC project scopes.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Interface Management Plan, procedures, and communication protocols for all EPC packages.
  • Act as the central point of contact for all interface matters between EPC Contractors, COMPANY’s teams, and external parties.
  • Establish and maintain the Interface Register, ensuring all interface points are clearly captured, categorized, assigned, and kept up-to-date.
  • Coordinate technical information exchange between EPC Contractors to ensure alignment of engineering design, data requirements, tie-ins, vendor information, and specifications.
  • Monitor interface-related milestones and ensure alignment of schedules among EPC Contractors.
  • Identify potential interface risks, clashes, or delays and proactively work with stakeholders to develop mitigation actions.
  • Support planning teams by providing interface information required for execution, construction sequencing, and commissioning readiness.
  • Lead regular Interface Coordination Meetings with EPC Contractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely issuance of interface requests (IR), interface agreements (IA), and interface closure reports.
  • Maintain transparent communication flow and ensure all parties understand interface boundaries and responsibilities.
  • Coordinate construction interface activities for tie-ins, shared areas, access routes, utilities, and SIMOPS between EPC packages.
  • Support site teams in resolving field interface issues and ensure construction activities are fully coordinated across contractors.
  • Monitor implementation of interface agreements at site and verify alignment with approved designs.
  • Maintain all interface documentation in accordance with project document control processes.
  • Prepare interface status reports, KPIs, dashboards, and summaries for management.
  • Ensure timely closure of all interface issues and formal handover of interface deliverables.
  • Identify interface-related risks and support the Project Management Team (PMT) in developing mitigation strategies.
  • Track and follow up on actions arising from interface workshops, risk reviews, and technical meetings.

Professional Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related discipline).
  • Minimum 7 experience in Oil & Gas projects (onshore or desert environment is preferred), with at least 5 years in interface coordination roles.
  • Strong understanding of FEED, EPC, and multi-contract execution strategies.
  • Knowledge of engineering design workflows, construction methods, and commissioning processes.
  • Experience coordinating multiple EPC Contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with Project Management systems, Interface Management tools, and Document Control systems.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and under fast-paced project schedules.
  • Excellence in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and scheduling software i.e. Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
  • Systematic Thinking, Proactive working style and willingness to learn with the new task.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills; a team orientation, as well as the ability to deal effectively with personnel at all levels.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English is a must. Arabic language proficiency will be an advantage.
  • Able to work under pressure, and remote environmental.
  • Capable of working independently, efficient, and competent in carrying out duties.
  • Able to travel to the field i.e. Desert camp, CPF site.
  • Good attitude and work as a team (One team one goal)
