The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of corrosion mechanisms and their impact on oil and gas production systems. This role involves overseeing the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of corrosion control systems, while ensuring full compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will play a key role in assessing corrosive risks, supporting project development, and resolving technical issues related to corrosion across various phases of oil and gas operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain corrosion control systems, including cathodic protection, coatings, and chemical inhibition systems
- Evaluate the corrosive potential of process fluids and recommend mitigation strategies
- Assess corrosion risks, including erosion and degradation of pipeline and equipment integrity
- Oversee the construction and commissioning of corrosion monitoring and control equipment
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues to ensure operational efficiency
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including operations, maintenance, and HSE
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Corrosion Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in corrosion engineering within the oil and gas industry
- In-depth knowledge of corrosion mechanisms and their effect on production systems
- Proven experience in construction and commissioning of corrosion control infrastructure
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in cross-functional teams
Additional Skills (Preferred)
- Experience with corrosion modeling software and data analysis tools
- Fluency in French is an asset, particularly for evaluating fluid corrosivity and risk assessment of erosion on pressure containment systems
