Environmental Analyst (Onshore)

REPORTS TO: HSE Manager

SCOPE OF THE POSITION

Ensure full compliance with current environmental regulations, the Environmental Impact Assessment, and all obligations derived from the Environmental Monitoring Plan (PVA) during project execution, guaranteeing proper planning, supervision, control, and reporting of the associated environmental and quality aspects.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Main responsibilities:

· Regulatory and DIA compliance

o Verify that all project activities comply with applicable environmental legislation, the Environmental Impact Assessment, and the developer’s environmental commitments.

o Identify deviations, propose corrective measures, and ensure their implementation.

· PVA Supervision

o Coordinate and oversee the execution of all controls, measurements, and inspections established in the Environmental Monitoring Plan (PVA).

o Ensure proper data collection, traceability, and the quality of technical reporting.

o Review and validate the documentation generated by contractors and field teams.

· Reporting and communication

o Draft/review environmental compliance reports, weekly and monthly reports, and notifications to the authorities when required.

o Maintain effective communication with the operations team, subcontractors, site management, and environmental authorities.

· Technical support in quality and environment

o Provide technical advice on project quality, environmental management, best practices, and PVA requirements.

o Support the HSE department in integrating environmental criteria into procedures, training, and controls.

· Economic management and control

o Monitor costs associated with subcontractors linked to the PVA.

o Verify certifications, scopes, and contractual compliance of environmental suppliers.

· Environmental permitting

o Prepare and manage the Environmental documentation required for authorizations, permits, notifications, and administrative procedures.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS

· University degree in Environmental Sciences, Marine Sciences, Biology, Environmental Engineering or a related field. Higher vocational training (FP) in similar areas may also be considered.

· A minimum of 15 years of verifiable experience in Environmental Supervision roles within the offshore Oil & Gas industry, specifically on Mobile Offshore Drilling Units (MODUs), may be considered in lieu of formal academic qualifications.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook.

· Excellent oral and written command of English and Spanish.

· Valid Offshore Survival certification (BOSIET CA EBS).

Valid OGUK/OEUK medical certification (fitness to work)

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

· Solid understanding of environmental legislation, environmental impact assessment, and sector-specific regulations.

· Ability to interpret EIAs, Environmental Monitoring Plans, construction projects, and technical specifications.

· 3 years of proven experience operating in Spain with in-depth understanding of environmental legislation, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) procedures, and applicable sector-specific regulations.

· Strong attention to detail in document control, data analysis, and report preparation.

· Skills in coordination, team supervision, and subcontractor management.

· Ability to communicate technical information effectively to multiple stakeholders.

· Strong focus on quality, problem-solving, and decision-making.

Proficiency with monitoring tools, GIS, databases, and office software suites.

· REQUIRED BEHAVIOURS & SKILLS

· Ability to adapt to changing conditions, apply continuous improvement techniques, and interact effectively with senior executives, corporate staff, and field personnel.

· Proven ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary environment. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with Exploration & Production (E&P) personnel.

· Commitment to safety, honest and ethical conduct. Communicative, with a professional presence. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team with a wide range of individuals, from operators to engineering managers.

· Strong focus on HSE and environmental protection.

· Effective communicator, able to express ideas clearly and confidently.

· Willingness to assist, guide, and train others, fostering knowledge growth and professional development.

· Must demonstrate a sense of ownership and responsibility.

· Must lead by example in behavioral standards.
