1. General Security
At the beginning of each shift, a safety meeting will be held and organized in turn by all personnel. This safety meeting will be written down and recorded in the notebook provided for this purpose in order to have a support for the modifications of procedure.

1.3. Work Permit
The objectives of the work permit are:

2. Work Organization
Carry out a round at the beginning of each shift and check in particular (daily check list):
· The pressures of the accumulation unit (KOOMEY unit).
· Ponds.
· The positions of the choke manifold, kill line, choke line and stand pipe manifold valves.
· The pressure of the pulsation damper.
· Watering of the pump pistons.
· Sensor sheave clearance = 5/8".
Must be present on the floor for maneuvers as soon as you arrive at the BHA. Make sure that the stacking and unstacking of the BHA is carried out correctly.
REMINDERTurnaround time is an important issue for most of our customers. However, client has the following safety standards:
The organization and distribution of tasks among the sounders are the guarantors of an efficient and safe operation.
3. Maintenance
A regular maintenance of all our equipment is a guarantee for the good progress of the operations and thus a good image of our company towards our customers. It is everyone's responsibility to take care of the maintenance and the general and functional condition of our equipment.
3.1. Greasing
A lubrication book is available in the office of the Head of Station. This notebook indicates which parts must be greased and the frequency of greasing. This book is also intended to note the date of lubrication performed on the equipment.
3.2. Regular precautions
Observe the current safety color code on all slings and shackles used.
- Make sure that once a week, when the crown block is being greased, the rigger carries out a thorough inspection of the mast and all its components (cables, bolts, pins, safety devices and gangway). This operation will be carried out under cover of a work permit.
- Ensure that the vibrators are cleaned as soon as the re-drilling or milling operations stop. Once clean, the vibrators must be stopped until operations are resumed. At the DTM, the vibrator screens will be dismantled and cleaned, a light veil of diesel fuel will be sprayed on them to avoid any corrosion.
- Ensure daily cleaning of pump suction strainers during drilling or milling operations and weekly during workover operations.
- Before each operation, check the general condition of the operating tools (e.g. drilling key combs, wedge combs, etc.) as well as the compatibility between the threads of the internal obturators and the seal used.
- Inspect, at the end of each well that required re-drilling, milling or pumping of granite- calcium, the opening of the BOP doors and the cleaning of the interior elements. Check the gaskets of the various shutters. This control will ensure a permanent functional state of this safety equipment.
3.3. Drilling Pumps
During long-term pumping operations, "listen" and inspect the drilling pumps regularly. Pay particular attention to abnormal noises (banging and whistling) and ensure that the lubrication of the liners is done properly.
Check the pre-load pressure of the pulsation damper daily.
The minimum pressure reading, with the pump stopped and the bleeder open, must be 700 psi. If this is not the case, notify the Site Manager to rectify this degraded situation which could lead to pump deterioration.
4. Reports, reports and instructions
The IADC drilling report is an important and official document. Only the IADC report will be considered authentic in the event of a dispute. It must be clean, well written, without erasures or overwriting and complete.
· This document must be systematically filled out at the end of each shift.
· Do not forget to fill in the mud and safety meeting sections in the notes.
· Respect the written instructions of the Site Manager and the client. At the slightest doubt, inform his superior.
· Never let a situation deteriorate.
· Keep the DC, DP, HWDP trim book clean and up to date.
· Make a sketch with OD, ID, numbers, lengths and thread types of all tubular material lowered into the well, including that of the customer and service companies. The Assistant Station Manager is responsible for this operation.
· Know and respect the instructions concerning the maximum and minimum pulls and poses in drilling and maneuvering. These instructions will be given by our clients and/or by the client supervisor according to the standards of our company or the client company.
5. Well safety
5.1. Alert
All alerts given by the safety instruments (lamp, siren…) must be translated by a stop of the operations in progress.
Types of sound alerts:
5 second siren = Fire alarm
Do not take any alarm lightly and in all cases notify the Site Manager. The safety instructions for the two previous alarms are as follows:
v For the H2S or CH4 gas alert (continuous), the safety instructions are as follows:
The Station Manager, Assistant Station Manager and a Sounder secure the well and return to the assembly point.
o Move away from the bottom and position the tool joint 1 meter above the rotation table.
o Stop the rotation.
o Place the drill string on shims.
o Stop the drilling pumps.
o Close the ring BOP.
o Close the automatic IBOP.
o Turn off all heat engines by activating the emergency stop at the dog house.
o Check the wind direction with the wind sock on the roof of the foreman's office.
o Go to the assembly point opposite the wind direction.
o Conduct a roll call of the staff listed on the attendance sign to ensure all staff are present.
v For the fire alarm (1 shot of 5 seconds of horn) :
The Supervisor / Assistant Supervisor / Sounder secure the well and return to the assembly point.
Secure the well by the following methods:
Procedure for making the well safe while drilling
o Move off the bottom and position the tool joint 1 meter above the rotation table.
o Stop the rotation.
o Stop the drilling pumps.
o Close the ring BOP.
o Place the drill string on shims.
o Close the automatic IBOP.
o Stop the main motors by activating the emergency stop at the dog house.
o Check the wind direction with the wind sock on the roof of the foreman's office.
o Go to the assembly point opposite the wind direction.
o Conduct a roll call of the staff listed on the attendance sign to ensure all staff are present.
Procedure for securing the well during maneuvering
o position the joint 1 meter above the table.
o Place the filling on wedges.
o Close the ring BOP.
o Put the kelly valve in place.
o Close the kelly valve.
o Stop the main motors by activating the emergency stop at the dog house.
o Watch the wind direction with the windsock on the roof of the foreman's office.
o Go to the assembly point opposite the wind direction.
o Conduct a roll call of the staff listed on the attendance sign to ensure all staff are present.
The 1ère intervention team members are equipped with fire extinguishers to contain the fire. The 2ème intervention team members are equipped with specific PPE and use the fire engine to contain the fire.
5.2. Prevention of rashes
The instructions in case of arrival must be posted in the dog house.
Drill and maneuver drills must be conducted in accordance with the instructions posted in the dog house.
5.3. Equipment needed permanently on the drilling floor
Ensure that the following safety devices are present and operational at the drill floor.
Dart sub (adapted to the landing sub descended in the well)
6. General maintenance of the site
· Keep the work floor clean and tidy. Ensures and arranges that access and passageways are never cluttered with material.
· Between each operation or different phases of the program, clean, unload and store in its original place the material that will no longer be used.
· Clean and visually inspect the threads and seatings of all degerged reducers or tubulars. Grease the threads of these devices and protect them with thread protectors. Notify the Site Manager if guards are missing.
· Keep the dog house clean.
· Keep the different notebooks up to date. Keep one notebook for each use and do not mix genres.
· Keep the Station Manager's console and gauges clean and free of tools.
· Leave the work area clean and tidy when you take over.
· Leave work tools clean and tidy. Remember to return tools to mechanics or electricians after borrowing.
· Throw away used parts, rags, used gloves, empty bottles. Sort out the waste if the means are available on the site.
· Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the locker rooms, the mess hall and the various equipment (microwave oven, refrigerators…).
· Empty the garbage once a day.
