Activities
Planning & Readiness
- Finalize operational planning with Lead Drilling Engineer and subsurface teams
- Validate rig site-specific procedures, contingency plans, and logistics readiness
- Coordinate mobilization and rig acceptance with contractors and internal stakeholders
Operational Oversight
- Provide 24/7 oversight of rig activities (via on-site rotation or remote monitoring)
- Validate critical operations (casing, cementing, BOP testing, etc.)
- Ensure timely execution of drilling, casing, and completion programs
- Ensure efficient handover between well phases and between rigs
HSE & Risk Management
- Be a visible HSE leader and enforce strict compliance with safety policies
- Maintain focus on major risks: well integrity, SIMOPS, marine risks
- Lead pre-job safety meetings and emergency preparedness exercises
Performance & Reporting
- Monitor performance KPIs and drive continuous improvement
- Approve NPT and ILT reports; lead root cause analyses
- Ensure proper documentation of operations, lessons learnt, and deviations
Qualifications & Experience Required
- 20+ years in offshore drilling operations, including 10 years as Superintendent
- Experience supervising dual-rig campaigns or multi-rig coordination
- Strong leadership, communication, and crisis management skills
- Fluent English; French a plus
- IWCF Level 4
