Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the technical integrity of assigned Mechanical Engineering activities.
- Responsible for quality defined in quality management system in general as well as according to governing rules, regulations, standards, specifications and or procedures.
- Independent responsibility for the professional execution of the work assigned to the team.
- Contribute to efficient execution in compliance with the Project schedule.
- Performance targets for the year to be established every year as per instructions from COMPANY and managed through standard business processes and described in the performance tool.
- Execute projects with quality and cost-effective engineering deliverables, according to company directives and instructions, within laws, rules, and regulations.
- Participate and adhere COMPANY team strategy as well as business objectives set by COMPANY.
- Participate in package-specific tests and inspections as agreed with Project Quality Manager (PQM)

- Take personal responsibility for HSE by focusing on own behavior.
- Ensure that own work follows Company requirements for HSEQ.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of quality and safety of our products and deliveries.
Tasks And Responsibilities (not Exhaustive)
The Engineer shall on own initiative:
- Creating construction plans using computer software, such as AutoCAD …
- Pursue professional development within own discipline/area,
- Report deviations, suggest improvements to the company QM system.
- Proactively work to continuously improve the company and its operations by LL initiatives.
- General technical assignments as requested by the project management.
- Design, drawing and model review.
- Budget analysis, Resource Deployment, Resource management
- Development of specifications and other engineering documentation,
- Interface with subcontractors, suppliers, vendors,
- General tasks related to procurement support, documentation, reporting, etc.
- Training and experience transfer of other less experienced engineering personnel.
- Technical Requisition (owner)
- Equipment Datasheet for Inquiry and Purchase Order (owner)
- Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) (owner)
- Originate, drive resolution, and coordinate the clarification logs with Bidders Technical Deviations and Clarifications (TD&C) one per Bidder. (owner)
- Supplier deliverables - for each of them: review, collect and check other disciplines comments, prepare mark-up, decide, and stamp the status code on the document; fill in and file relevant check lists as applicable.
- Critically analyze comments received from Client and advise the project team regarding potential extra-contractual requirements or scope variations.
- Drive and coordinate closure of punch lists.
Reporting and Communication
The Engineer Shall On Own Initiative:
- Reporting in project to the Lead Engineer / Engineering Manager and Project Manager.
- Report any non-compliance with HSEQ requirements to the Team Manager.
- Interact with the Engineer Manager regarding technical and project related challenges.
Methods of Work
- Ensure that relevant working methods are followed.
- Perform tasks in such a way as to reduce environment and health risks.
- Ensure tasks performed are to a high quality, be involved in and suggest improvements where they may be needed.
- Participate in the evaluation of working methods and conditions thereby minimize the risk for workplace and environmental incidents and thereby minimize the risk for quality issues.
- Be proactive and Manage schedules and work to tight deadlines.
Subordinates, peers and leadership
- Actively participate in the appraisal process, ensuring objectives are entered into the system and are reviewed on time as required.
- Work closely with peers to reach the common and shared goals for COMPANY.
Facility Specific Responsibilities
- Preparation of Mechanical Datasheets, Material Requisition, Technical Bid Evaluation, Feasibility Evaluation, Mechanical Equipment Design and drawings,
- Input sketches for drafts man/ 3D modeling designer and datasheet
- Detail Engineering knowledge of Vessels internals & Detailed Engineering knowledge of rotating equipment and associated accessories lube oil system, fuel gas system, CIP system and associated electrical items interfaces & instrument items interfaces.
- Detail Engineering, Analysis and calculations,
- Development of specifications and other engineering documentation
- Interface with subcontractors, suppliers, Vendor Management
Behavioural Skills/Competencies Required
- Communication, people management, analytical and coordination skills.
- Engineer shall have good interface knowledge with other disciplines especially Process, Piping, Electrical & Instrumentation etc. and knowledge of all discipline documents and drawings is required.
- Good Knowledge of International Mechanical Codes and Standards like ASME SEC.VIII DIV.1 / DIV.2, TEMA, PD5500, API:650, API:660, API:661, ASME, API etc. applicable to Rotary Equipment - API 610, API 674, API 675, API 676, API 617, API 618, API 619, API 672 etc.
- Review designs & plans, layouts, working drawings and managing resources to ensure execution of projects within time and budgeted parameters.
- Monitor closely the fast-track projects and meet the project deadline on time.
- Deftness in swiftly ramping projects in coordination with clients, consultants & contractors.
- Allocating tasks to Team Lead & Technical Expert on abroad site for technical support if required.
- Evaluating Equipment design progress & development
- Exposure in Equipment design calculation and
- Proven technical experience in Static Equipment Engineering with extensive skills using essential pressure vessel design software such as Pv-Elite, Compress, TANK, etc
- Exposure in Layout development and Skid based designs.
- Equipment handled should cover material of construction of CS, LTCS, SS, CS+Clad, LAS, HAS, NACE MR0175, HIC etc. for applications with temperature ranging from hot service to cryogenic with special services like Hydrogen, Lethal, Wet Sour, Cyclic, Sea Water etc.
- Standardization of Design Procedures and review Check list and Design Guidelines
Education / Eeperience Required
- Bachelors Degree /Post graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree from recognized university.
- Min 15+ years relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering from Oil and Gas industry (Upstream & Downstream).
Skills/ Traning Required
- · Support the Lead Engineer / Engineering Manager in development and implementation of the Strategy outlined for the Mechanical Engineering Department.
- · Good knowledge in Equipment Design (Static & Rotary)
- · Review project design basis and specifications to ensure integrity in-line with project requirement.
- · Evaluation of vendor offers, Raising TQs, Preparation of Technical Bid Evaluation and Post order vendor documents review.
- · Participate in the supplier tender process including development of scope, input to the tender evaluation and clarification activities.
- · Preparation of Deliverable list & Schedule, Man-hour estimate, Resource requirement and Progress report
- · Participating in Design Review and Progress Review meetings.
- · Evaluation / Review / Checking of Design Documents / Drawings
