Main Responsibilities
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will lead the design, review, and optimization of all electrical systems for the Al Gabal El-Asfar Wastewater Treatment Plant expansion. The role focuses on ensuring that all electrical designs, including power distribution, control systems, and automation, meet the project’s performance standards and adhere to international safety regulations.
Specific tasks include
- Developing and reviewing detailed electrical design plans for the wastewater treatment plant, ensuring they meet the technical specifications and safety standards.
- Overseeing the integration of electrical systems with other engineering components, such as mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Ensuring the design and installation of electrical systems, including power supply, backup systems, and control systems, are optimized for energy efficiency and sustainability.
- Supervising the implementation of electrical systems during construction to ensure adherence to approved designs.
- Providing technical leadership and direction to the electrical design team and ensuring coordination with other disciplines.
- Preparing detailed reports and documentation regarding electrical system performance, adjustments, and project milestones.
- Collaborating with the project team to resolve any electrical design-related challenges during the construction and commissioning phases.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, with postgraduate qualifications in a related field (e.g., electrical design, control systems).
- At least 12 years of experience in electrical design for infrastructure projects, particularly in wastewater treatment or similar projects.
- Proven experience in at least two similar projects involving electrical design for large-scale wastewater treatment facilities.
- Expertise in using electrical design software and tools for performance analysis and optimization.
- Excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of Arabic is an asset).
