Freight Station Project Manager Will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating logistics operations at a freight station or warehouse facility, ensuring that all processes related to the handling, storage, and transportation of goods are efficient and compliant with regulations.

Key missions

Operational Management

  • Supervise day-to-day operations Ensure the smooth handling of inbound and outbound freight, including loading, unloading, and sorting of goods.
  • Optimize workflows Implement procedures that increase the efficiency of freight handling, storage, and dispatch, while minimizing delays and disruptions.
  • Resource allocation Manage personnel and equipment to meet daily operational demands, ensuring that workforce and assets are used effectively.

Logistics Coordination

  • Manage transportation schedules Coordinate with trucking companies, shipping lines, and rail operators to ensure timely and accurate dispatch of goods.
  • Freight documentation Oversee the preparation and accuracy of shipping and customs documentation, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Compliance and Safety

  • Ensure regulatory compliance Ensure that the station adheres to all legal and industry standards related to health, safety, environmental (HSE), and customs requirements.
  • Safety protocols Implement and monitor safety procedures to prevent accidents and ensure the well-being of employees and the proper handling of goods.

Client and Vendor Relations

  • Customer service Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing any issues related to freight handling, delivery, or delays.
  • Vendor management Maintain relationships with third-party service providers (e.g., trucking companies, equipment suppliers) and negotiate contracts when necessary.

Financial Oversight

  • Budget management Oversee operational budgets, ensuring that all processes are cost-effective while maintaining service quality.
  • Performance reporting Generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery times, cost per shipment, and warehouse productivity to provide insights for decision-making.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and develop staff Oversee the hiring, training, and development of the station’s workforce, including warehouse staff, forklift operators, and logistics coordinators.
