Design and analyze civil and structural components for nuclear facilities (e.g., containment structures, cooling towers, foundations, support systems).
Perform structural load analysis, seismic assessments, and stress evaluations to meet industry and safety requirements.
Ensure compliance with NRC, ASME BPVC, ACI, and other applicable regulatory codes.
Collaborate with engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, fluid systems) to ensure cohesive plant layout and integration.
Oversee site layout, civil design documents, and plant-level planning.
Support licensing efforts, including preparation of design documentation for regulatory approval.
Oversee or support construction, inspection, maintenance, and modification projects for structural systems.
Use tools like STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ANSYS, and AutoCAD to perform modeling and simulations.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to internal teams and external contractors.
Contribute to plant retrofit, decommissioning, or expansion projects.
Requirements
Education & Experience
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
3-7 years of experience in civil/structural design—nuclear, industrial, or energy sector preferred.
Experience with seismic design, radiation shielding, and nuclear safety considerations.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ANSYS, and AutoCAD.
Strong understanding of reinforced concrete, steel design, and structural analysis methods.
Familiarity with NRC, ASME, and ACI codes and standards.
Ability to support licensing, inspections, and regulatory engagements.
