Main Responsibilities

The Senior Site Mechanical Engineer will oversee the mechanical systems’ construction, installation, and testing during the Al Gabal El-Asfar Wastewater Treatment Plant expansion. The role involves managing the mechanical works on-site, ensuring that all mechanical components, including pumps, piping, and sludge treatment equipment, are installed and operated according to the project specifications and international standards.

Specific tasks include

  • Supervising the installation of mechanical systems and equipment on-site, ensuring compliance with the approved designs and technical specifications.
  • Conducting on-site inspections and tests to ensure the quality and performance of installed mechanical systems.
  • Coordinating with contractors and other engineering teams to ensure smooth execution of mechanical works within the project timeline.
  • Providing technical solutions for any mechanical issues encountered during construction and installation phases.
  • Monitoring progress and ensuring that mechanical works are completed within the set schedule and budget.
  • Preparing detailed reports on the performance and installation of mechanical systems, highlighting any issues or delays.
  • Ensuring that all mechanical work adheres to health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, with significant experience in infrastructure or wastewater treatment projects.
  • A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in supervising the installation of mechanical systems for large infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience in at least two similar projects involving the installation of mechanical systems for wastewater treatment plants.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, pumps, piping, and equipment related to wastewater treatment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage teams and collaborate with contractors and other project stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English is required (knowledge of Arabic is an advantage).

  • Strong expertise in mechanical system installation and supervision for large-scale wastewater treatment projects.
  • Ability to resolve on-site technical challenges and coordinate efficiently with other engineering disciplines.
  • Proficiency in mechanical system testing, installation, and commissioning to ensure optimal performance.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and environmental standards in mechanical works.
