Project Engineer

Missions:

The overall EXECUTION phase objective is to achieve the successful drilling, completion and put on production of 13 wells. The Drilling Project will successfully deliver its objective by adhering to the following principles:

  • To achieve the HSEQ objectives, to execute the project on plan and on budget (minimizing changes)
  • To effectively manage any change which is necessary and approved, to effectively manage interfaces between contractors, subcontractors, third parties and other stakeholders.
  • To ensure local laws and decrees as well as internationally respected codes and standards are applied

Main Functions:

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the effective coordination of the engineering, procurement and construction areas on this project (also including drilling and subsurface).

Responsible of the supervision of PROJECT all activities to ensure adherence to contractual requirements, PROJECT specifications and procedures; to highlight design issues and ensure design input is appropriately shared amongst all engineering disciplines. Shall also be responsible of integrating the engineering input to Procurement, Fabrication, Construction, Pre-commissioning, and Commissioning.

§Project Engineer will monitor that all activities are performed as scheduled in order to guarantee that project is being developed as planned. Anticipate needs of contractors and analyse the impacts of deviations

§Assure that engineering and procurement activities are done both in time and quality to satisfy construction activities.

§Check that waivers raised by contractors are acceptable or not and manage the MOC register

§Attend HAZID, ENVID; HAZOPS etc. Deeply focused in process safety design and design a safety facility

§Ensure the right coordination between Project managers and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (also Drilling)

§Reviews amendments and change orders to accommodate unanticipated situations and ensure compliance with relevant contracts

§Propose improvements for project processes

§Create and maintain a One month look ahead anticipating problems and advancing measures to mitigate/fix them

Profile:

§Must have been in Consultant’s or Engineering organization for at least three (5) years in similar position.

§Particular experience in projects done in the MENA region will be added qualification for work

§B.S. in Engineering with 10+ years relevant experience in Oil & Gas industry

§Coordination / communication skills and very good knowledge of spoken and written English language. French or Arabic recommended

§To set communication channels between project team and contractors

Technical background:

§Must be fully familiar with local and international codes & standards to be applied

§ Shall be able to interpret Owner’s specifications & standards intended for the Project and direct contractors accordingly

§Must be well experienced in medium size projects (up to 300 million $)

§Should be knowledgeable about construction and commissioning processes employed, materials used and testing procedure requirements to be applied for installations

§Good knowledge of Engineering, Project Management, QA/QC and HSE management systems and related project requirements.
