  • In collaboration with the various Legal sub-functions and the HR function, develops and oversees the implementation of a legal competency roadmap focused on the critical skills and aptitudes required for each key Legal group in order to support the Legal Department’s needs and overall corporate goals.
  • In collaboration with the various Legal sub-functions and the HR function, develops and oversees the implementation of a training and development program that provides learning experiences and development opportunities for Legal staff to enable them to better support the business, focusing on three key elements:
    • Onboarding program
    • Lawyers training program
    • Coaching and leadership development program
  • Enables learning experiences and development opportunities of Legal staff by assisting with the implementation of the Legal Department’s knowledge management strategy and promoting seamless access to legal & department institutional knowledge through the development and organization of training material and other key learnings.
  • In collaboration with the various Legal sub-functions and the Communication function, develops and implements the Legal Department’s strategic communications initiatives (e.g., communication campaigns, newsletters and websites) and ensures communications are meeting department needs.

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Law degree (JD/LLB or equivalent).
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience in an in-house legal department or law firm. Experience working in corporate training and/or corporate communications is essential with experience developing content for lawyers and/or professionals and managing delivery of the same.
  • Excellent legal writing and verbal communication skills including communicating complex content to a range of audiences. Graphic communication skills a plus.
  • Excellent PowerPoint skills.
  • Able to effectively utilize strategic thinking and innovative ideas to create and present long-term solutions in alignment with key business needs.
  • Able to successfully develop, manage and drive results for complex projects and initiatives.
  • Able to foster and sustain strong interpersonal relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to work independently as well as a highly functioning team member.
