Position: HSE Coordinator

Job Responsibilities

  • Facilitate an integrated Project Management approach to achieve a best-in-class operational Safety and Environmental Management System (SEMS) performance, defining minimum HSE requirements for projects and ensuring that all HSE Corporate standards and local regulations are well implemented along all Project phases.
  • Participate in the launch and implementation of the SE Management System’s objectives, work plans, criteria, and requirements.
  • Define and implement Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Plan for the Project
  • Develop and implement HSE procedures and deliverables required for the project
  • Follow up on the legislation and other SE obligations that affect his/her scope. Ensure the Country regulations regarding Safety and Environment are kept up to date and that they are complied with.
  • Facilitate Client’s Major Accident Hazard (MAH) bow-tie and operational hazard ID program, Management of Change program, including standards, procedures and programs needed for SEMS compliance.
  • Assess HSE risks associated to the project/Conduct Risk Assessment Workshops. Collaborate so that SE risk control measures are effective, especially those associated with the dangers of major accidents
  • Assist with implementation of Contractor HSE bridging document Requirements, as well as coordinate critical HSE safe work practices field audits of confined space, safety equipment by-pass, fall protection, offshore crane operations, lockout/tagout, work permits and job safety analysis
  • Coordinate the SE audit programme within his/her scope and follow up on it. Conduct audits to drilling and services contractors. Ensure implementation of corrective actions
  • Coordinate HSE requirements in contractor selection and evaluation work for both planned and unplanned work. Conduct pre-contract review of vendor capabilities, equipment and post-contract award facility and equipment inspection
  • Monitor contractor compliance with client standards and requirements
  • Ensure that all Personnel have completed the required HSE training prior to traveling to project locations, record Personnel on Board along with required records and documentation for SEMS regular compliance.
  • Advise project and asset managers on how to manage SE risks and impacts, incident and emergency management, as well as aspects relating to SE leadership and culture.
  • Collaborate and participate in defining actions to improve the SE Management System.
  • Offer support in terms of reporting requirements (external and internal) for the specific needs of his/her area of competence.
  • Prepare and implement emergency response plans required for the project
  • Coordinate emergency drills
  • Coordinate incident investigations
  • Implement preventive observations program
  • Monitor the implementation of corrective actions
  • Hold HSE meetings
  • Prepare HSE reports
  • Supervise and program activities of client HSE Field Supervisors.

Job Requirements


  • University Degree in Science or Engineering (Drilling, Industrial, Chemical, Safety or Environmental Engineering) with specialization in QHSE
  • Proficient in HSEQ Management Systems ISO 14001, OSHA 18001, ISO 9001
  • Possess certification in NEBOSH or equivalent
  • BOSIET certificate


  • Min 5 years relevant experience as HSE Coordinator in Drilling Projects. Offshore experience required.


  • English: Excellent verbal and written communication skills (required)
  • Spanish: Excellent verbal and written communication skills (required)

  • Computer skills – Advanced user in Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Strong safety leadership skills.
  • Strong focus on support and service to operation teams. Flexibility and willingness to adapt to support the business.
